Endermologie Treatment for Cellulite

Having originated in France in the late 1970s, endermologie is a noninvasive, machine-assisted form of massage that aids in reducing the appearance of cellulite. Endermologie treatments for cellulite often take place at a dermatologist or plastic surgeon's office or in a spa.

During an endermologie treatment for cellulite, a massage machine with two rollers and a gentle suction are rolled over the body. As they go over the body, the rollers fold the top-most layer of fat into the rollers, stretching the connective tissue of the area.
Stretching the connective tissue causes forced trauma to the fat cells. As the fat cells rebuild, they are redistributed throughout the body, creating an improved contour and shape.
Though the roller massage and suction is strong enough to penetrate the top layer of fat in the body, it is not strong enough to cause damage to the skin, bones or muscles.

Endermologie treatments take about 30 minutes in the practitioner's office. Initial visits require one or two sessions per week for approximately 14 weeks. After optimal results have been achieved, one visit per month is required for maintenance.
