Physical changes, such as pregnancy and teenage growth spurts, put strain on the skin and can lead to stretch marks. Depending on skin-color and how recently the stretch marks occurred, they can be red, purple or white. Common areas on the body that develop stretch marks include the abdomen, hips, thighs and knees. Covering these for a photo shoot is as simple as applying a professional concealer to affected areas. Professional camouflage contains a high level of pigment, enabling you to cover marks without a thick cakey-looking layer.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare skin on the body so that it looks smooth and feels supple. Smooth on a lightweight body lotion if necessary. This helps to give a professional finish to the photo as well as ensuring that the camouflage goes on evenly.
2Mix concealer to get an exact match to skin color. Choose a basic color that is a close match to the surrounding skin, then blend it to perfection by adding a small amount of one or two other shades. In this way, adjust the color so that it is darker or lighter and blends in completely when on skin.
3Apply your mixed camouflage color with the brush, patting it in with a finger or latex makeup sponge, if necessary. Do not assume that you need a very thick layer. Work the product well into the brush to get a finer consistency. Professional camouflage seems dry and stiff at first but becomes pliable when warmed, allowing you to deposit a thin but effective layer.
4Set the concealer, when stretch marks are covered, by using a velour puff to press translucent loose powder into the product. Leave the powder to bond with the cream camouflage for a moment, then dust off any excess with a soft powder-brush. Setting camouflage is especially important for a photo shoot because makeup can melt off under hot lights.
