Cellulitis is a bacterial infection that occurs on the skin. Most often the infection appears on the face, neck or limbs. The elderly and young children may be more susceptible to cellulitis, though it can affect anyone of any age. In addition, those with previous injuries to the arms or legs may be more likely to become infected. Other factors such as diabetes, obesity and pregnancy may also increase the likelihood of contracting cellulitis.
