Homemade Beauty Treatments With Salt

Salt is extremely healthy for your skin. Salt can be used on the skin in a variety of homemade beauty treatments that are beneficial for curing itchy skin, exfoliating and treating acne.

In a bowl mix Epsom salts, sea salt and rock salt. Add a few drops of the essential oil of your choice such as peppermint or lavender. If desired, add one to two drops of food coloring. Mix all ingredients well, place in clean and dry jars and seal.

Salt and coffee make an exfoliating and skin tightening scrub. Take three tablespoons of freshly brewed coffee grounds and place in a small bowl. Mix with three tablespoons of coarse salt, one teaspoon of water and one teaspoon of coffee until it forms a paste. Use to scrub your whole body in the shower.

Use saline solution to dry up acne and pimples. To make, dissolve one teaspoon of salt into eight ounces of warm water. This solution can be used to wash your entire face if you are prone to recurring acne, or to treat single pimples by soaking a cotton ball in the solution and treating the pimple.
