How to Make Ginger Body Scrub

There is nothing quite like a day at the spa. The way it relaxes and rejuvenates your mind and body and clears your skin and head is almost worth the cost. With all the new recipes available for spa-quality products straight out of your kitchen, theres no reason to spend the big bucks on something you can get in the comfort of your own home. Play around with the quantity of each of your oils to get the perfect scent made just for you. Heres how to make Ginger Body Scrub right from your kitchen.

Instructions

In a food processor, pulse the grapefruit peel and ginger root to a thin powder. Set aside.

In a bowl, combine the salt, five oils and vitamin E. Thoroughly mix with a fork until the salt is completely saturated with the oils. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Once the salt and oils have separated, you can add the grapefruit and ginger powder. Thoroughly combine into the mixture.

Using a spatula, scoop the body scrub mixture into an airtight container. Use vintage glass jars if youre giving the scrub away as a gift.

Mix your scent. Mixing the scent is the last thing you want to do and you need to do it quickly in order to retain the full body of the fragrance. Dip a toothpick into the mixture and adjust it by adding a few more drops of the scent you think it needs, according to preference. You can use about 50 to 60 drops total, so you have about 18 drops to play around with.

Add the essential oil mix to the scrub, quickly stir and close the jar.

To use, apply the scrub to damp skin and massage in a circular motion for about 30 seconds. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
